How can I see what is in an Archive collection?

There is an A-Z list of archival collections for every collection that is fully listed and open to the public found on the libguide for Archival Collections (see link below), where you will find a descriptive list / item list for each collection.
This tells you where the collection came from, how it is arranged and what is in it.
This is very helpful when you are looking for a specific item in a collection.
