I am a UCC student/staff member, can I visit other libraries in Ireland?

Answer

There are 2 co-operative schemes open to UCC staff and degree level postgraduate students.  There is no membership fee for either.

The Library Link (formerly ALCID) scheme allows you to visit other Irish university member libraries (no borrowing).  To get a Library Link card, fill out the application form below and submit it.

If you wish to visit Trinity College Dublin, Library Link is the only option.

The SCONUL Access Scheme covers many Irish and UK universities.  You may not have access to all member universities, depending on which type of user you are.

Apply to UCC Library for approval (SCONUL link below).  When you receive the approval email, you should contact the library you want to visit to check opening times and any conditions for that library.

TIP If you are visiting a library to consult specific material, contact the library in advance to make sure the material is available.
