What do the names for the floors (as in Q, Q+1 etc.) mean in Boole Library?

In Boole Library on Main Campus, you enter the library on Q floor, which is the ground floor.
Q+1 is the first floor, Q+2 the second floor and Q+3 the third floor and Q-1 is the basement.
If you look up a book on the catalogue or if you book a group study room, you will be directed to one of these floors.
