Is there an area for silent study in UCC library?
Answer
Almost all reading rooms in the Boole library and all reading rooms in Brookfield are for silent study (red zones). An exception on Q+1 is the reading room where the books are; in this space (amber zone) you can have short quiet conversations.
In red zones:
- You can use keyboards and devices.
- Please keep phones on silent and leave the reading room to make or receive calls.
- Keep the volume low on headphones, so it does not disturb others.
If you need to talk in a group, there are Group Study Rooms for group work (minimum 3 people), which can be booked online. The Creative Zone on Q floor is available for drop in group study/collaborative work, no booking required.
