What is the catalogue?

Answer

The Library Catalogue is an organised list of books, journals and other materials in the Library. It allows you to find books and other items easily.  UCC Library uses a system called Dewey Decimal Classification.

  • You can search the catalogue by Keyword, Title, Author etc.
  • Items are arranged by subject and in number order so when you look up the catalogue, it gives you the call number to find the book on the shelf.
  • If a book has a due date it means it is out.
  • If it says Check Shelf the book should be available.

TIP: If the book you want is not on the shelf, check the Re-shelving area too.
